Favorite Color

My children are so definite about their favorite color.

うちの子たちは好きな色については絶対です。

Mah likes pink.

マーはピンク

Mee likes blue.

ミーは青

Yuh likes yellow.

ユーは黄色

When Mah and Mee was little like before 2 years old,

I often bought them pink staff

just because they are girls.

マーとミーが2歳くらいまで女の子だからという理由だけで

ピンクのものを買っていました。

When they turned to 2 years old and started to tell their opinions,

to my surprise, Mee liked blue and Mah liked green at that time.

でも2歳を過ぎ、自分の意見をいうようになると

びっくりしたことに

ミーは青が好きで

マーはその時は緑が好きでした。

When we went shopping for shoes,

they chose green and blue shoes which were obviously for boys.

靴を買いに行った時のことです、

彼女たちは緑と青のどう見ても男の子の靴を選びました。

I suggested them buy more girly ones.

いや、もっと女の子っぽい、こっちの靴にしない？

と提案しましたが、

But they wanted to green and blue shoes.

これがいいの一点張りで、

I submitted...

私が折れました。

After entering kindergarten, Mah changed her favorite color to red or pink.

But Mee continues to love blue.

幼稚園に入ってからは、マーの好きな色は赤やピンクに変わりましたが、

ミーの青への愛はずっとです。

Yuh is definite about yellow since he started talking.

ユーの「きいろ」好きは話し始めてからずっと。

I wonder where this preference for color comes from.

It's like they have their theme color for their life!

この色の好みはどこから来るのでしょうか

まるで人生のテーマカラーがあるみたいです！

(They dug out taro plants from our garden!)
