Double Rainbow

それは、大島に引っ越したばかりの頃だった。

It was when I just moved to Ohshima.

岡田港の坂を下ると、乗るはずだった最終便がちょうど船が出発したのが見えた。

As I approached down to Okata Port, I could see from the hill the jet ferry which I was going to ride was leaving.

ひゃー

Oh my god!!!

どうやら時間を間違えってしまったらしい。

I misunderstood the departure time.

発見済みの新幹線のチケットも窓口に行かなきゃ変更できない。

I cannot even change the Shinkansen ticket which I already issued as I needed to change at the counter.

「電話越しに島で海をもう渡れないんです...!」と懇願しても無駄である。

I said "I cannot go to the counter, I am on the island and missed the last ferry"  in vain.

船と新幹線2つのチケット×大人2, 子ども2分を無駄にして、

落ち込んだ私に飛び込んだのは、

As I was so disappointed at wasting ferry and Shinkansen ticket for 2 adults and 2 kids,

今まで見たことのないような大きな2重の虹。

a spectacular double rainbow appeared to my eyes.

過ぎ去ったことでクヨクヨするのはやめよう。

I stop wining about which already happened.

今は、この虹を見られて幸せ。

I am happy now to see this beautiful rainbow.
