Little Pathway

家の裏の道。

A pathway behind our house.

子どもたちはトトロの道と呼んでいる。

Kids call it "Totoro's Pathway".

子どもたちの通学路である、この道で、

キョンを見たり、

リスが木を飛び回ったり、

毛虫がビヨーンとぶらさがっていたり、

都会の通学路にはない、ワクワクとハラハラ。

They walk this path as they go to school.

On the way, we see muntjacs (little deer),

squirrels jumping trees,

and woolly bear hanging in the air,

which you wouldn't see on the school route in the city.

舗装されていないので、走って転ぶこともしばしば...

As it is not paved and the ground is not flat, they often fall down running on it.
